  2. CO2/ GDP ie the energy intensity in India with regard to Gross Domestic Product has been reducing indicating improved efficiency in energy use.
  3. CO2/GDP (kg CO2 per 1995 US $PPP): Ratio of carbon dioxide emissions to Gross Domestic Product of India adjusted for purchasing power parity.
  4. Even though per capita emissions ( CO2/Population) has been  increasing over the years 10 0.97 tonnes in 2002, it is still less than the world average of about  4 tonnes.
